Week 6:Motor
I always want to do some work about sand. or me, sand represents time. Recently .we are doing midterm and finals, I always stay up late at night and spent time to think about some idea and do not have enough time to do the work. So I came up with this idea to make a  clock pendulum to remind myself to balance time. When I saw the servo moving, I thought it will be good to use it to control the pendulum. I thought to put sand in the container will be very good to present the time balance. I drew a sketch.
I did a test on the servo.
I use two pieces of wood, cut it, shaved it, drilled it, and used four wood sticks to hold it. I used a glue gun to make it stable. For the servo, I drill two holes to make the zip tie go through and hold it up. I was trying to use a screw to make the servo on the wood, but the space is too small, it was hard to drill the screw.
I use a foil and sugar to test the length of the pendulum and swing angle. I measure the value and made a sand container. I was going to use acrylic to make the container but it is too heavy, the servo could not hold its' weight.
I put some color sands in the container to make its’ weight and can hear the sand sound when it is swing.
The container in the video has no sand yet, will update a final one very soon.
