Singing Robot

This week’s assignment is to use two kinds of materials and make them attach to each other. After last week’s experience of doing enclosure, I found something I can improve. So I made an enclosure robot for my speaker using cardboard and foam this week. I did not use the laser cutter and I found all the material I need from the garbage can.

I sketched down my idea and found some available materials in the garbage can. I found a mailbox, it is made of cardboard, there is some foam in the box which I can use it to stable my speaker. And there are some screws, glue, and paper clips.

Then, I measure each side and drew them on the cardboard and cut them. The cardboard is still not the perfect fit, but they look better than last week’s enclosure.

The next step is to attach the foam and the cardboard together. At first, I tried to use glue to attached foam and cardboard, it did not work. Then I found some long screws which are permit fit to attach them.

I used foil to make the cover of the speaker and made some decorations for the robot. To attach foil and cardboard, I used glue and some double-sided tape.

In conclusion, I think sometimes you cannot plan what you need to do something. It is sometimes happening on me that I cannot take some time by using the tools I planned to use, I need to find the tools while I am making the work. It helps me a lot to find the most suitable tool.
